Interesting idea...surviving the end of the world in a superstore like Walmart. In fact, that might be the best place to be. I liked that it was about a group of kids as well, but the narrator I found irritating. He alternated between what seemed like forced "kid like" ideas and thoughts and more sophisticated ideas. I don't really know how to describe it. I also found some of the plot all over the place. I assume that some of that can be attributed to this being the first book in the series and the author is planning on actually explaining what the heck is really going on in the world in the next books, but that is just soo annoying and sooo overdone right now. I also didn't get the ending. There is a decision made that divides the group and I just thought it was a bit dumb. Overall, it was a mildly entertaining way to spend a few hours, but I won't be reading the rest of the series.
