Gosh Courtney Summers writing just gets under your skin. This was the second book I've read by her. I've gotta say, I just love the way that she writes. Her voice and her prose are AMAZING. This is a troubling and difficult story. The narrator is dealing with a lot. It's a page turner because you want to find out what exactly is compelling her to act out. That part is really well done. The reason I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 was because I just really didn't like Parker. I mean, she is a bitch. She's all messed up, that's what the book is about, but she's just horrible. That isn't really a failing of the book, Summers has done an amazing job with her characterization, but it made me enjoy the book a little less.
