The Girl of Fire and Thorns

The Girl of Fire and Thorns - Rae Carson I liked the heroine's growth in this story. The story is about her journey as she struggles to come to terms with what it means to be a queen lead her people. The author isn't afraid to let the story get a little messy, which I liked as well. I actually cried in the middle of this book.

This story has a lot of religious overtones, since it is mainly about the godstone and the main character spends quite a lot of time praying. I usually get annoyed by religion in my books, but in this case I think it is an appropriate use of creative license, since it is Carson' fantasy world. I believe this is the first in a series and I'll be reading the next one.
